By Field Level Media Oct 23 (Field Level Media) The New York Knicks are signing former first-round draft pick Dalton Knecht to a two-way deal. The 25-year-old forward s agents with Excel Sports Management confirmed the move to ESPN on Friday. The Los Angeles Lakers selected Knecht, known in college at Tennessee as a sharpshooter, with the No. 17 overall pick of the 2024 NBA Draft. He fell out of the rotation last season and the Lakers waived him earlier this week. As a 2024-25 rookie in 78 games, Knecht averaged 9.1 points and 2.8 rebounds over 19.2 minutes per game, shooting 37.6% from 3-point range. Last season, his productivity (4.2 points, 1.4 rebounds) and minutes (10.2) were cut by about half. The Knicks will waive forward Kevin McCullar Jr., who currently occupies a two-way spot, to make room for Knecht, multiple outlets reported Friday. ( Field Level Media)
